A brief history of GD Environmental Services Ltd
GD Environmental Services ltd was formed in 2004 through the merger of Gwent Drain Services Ltd and Marine and Industrial Services Ltd. The merger created a “Total Waste Management Company” with over 35 years market knowledge and expertise.
Under the guidance of director James Norvill, GD Environmental has expanded from a core drainage business into a national provider of all forms of waste disposal services including Skip Hire, Asbestos Disposal, CCTV Drain Surveying, Recycling, Tipper Hire, Muck Away, Hazardous Waste Disposal and Environmental Cleaning.
This expansion into new markets has been positively received by our customers as they understand the cost benefits of using one core supplier to manage all waste disposal requirements. Through this attraction and GD Environmental's “can do” attitude the companies turnover has increased significantly from £20,000 in its first year of trading to a projected £3.5m in 2008.
This substantial growth has been rewarded with GD Environmental being ranked as the 8th fastest growing company in Wales in the 2007 Fast Grow 50 Awards. It has also been one of many reasons why GD Environmental was named BCC Welsh Business of the Year with our director picking up both BCC Welsh Entrepreneur of the Year Award and the Western Mail Young Business Achiever of the Year Award in 2007.
Despite recent success GD Environmental is a growing business that does not like to stand still. To remain a market leader within the environmental services industry GD will continue to invest in new people and technology to maintain a quality reliable service at a competitive rate.
Since 2003 GD Environmental has achieved the following accreditations the BS EN 9001:2000 Quality Management System, BS EN 14001:1996 Environmental Management System and recently the Environmental Agency approved IPPC License (Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control). In addition to this GD Environmental Services is licensed to provide the resources to collect and process effluents and sludge's, and we are also licensed to transfer asbestos for final disposal.
