Swansea has its next group of passionate environmental ambassadors following a school visit by Casllwchwr Primary to our Llanelli facility, where they were educated on the importance of recycling and effective waste management.
A total of twenty-six, year four students from Casllwchwr Primary School in Swansea were given a tour of the site, educated on different types of waste, what happens to waste when it arrives at the site, and how important it is to recycle.
As part of their visit, the pupils were given the task of sorting rubbish into different categories to be recycled, got to sit in one of our new trucks and became honorary eco ambassadors whilst taking a vast amount of information away with them.
Mrs. Lisa Jones, the children’s teacher, said: “It was great to see the children become so engrossed in such an important topic. They listened intently, asked difficult questions and all came away feeling much more empowered to make a difference in their local community. The visit has completely changed their outlook and passion for all things recycling.”
“A huge thank you to the GD Environmental team for taking time out of their day to educate our students on such an important topic.”
