GD Environmental has been recognised in the 2015 Responsible Business Awards, run by Business in the Community for the continual positive impact of reducing the negative impact waste has on our environment.
The Responsible Business Awards is the most prestigious and respected awards championing responsible business in the UK and abroad. It celebrates inspirational companies that are taking action to address social and environmental issues and transform their communities.
The Awards celebrate the variety of ways that businesses are making a difference – from investing in the wellbeing of employees, to helping young people develop skills, or supporting small businesses to grow. 145 companies have been shortlisted in total across the UK, across the 13 award categories.
Every year as part of the Responsible Business Awards, Business in the Community ‘reaccredits’ a number of companies who are able to demonstrate the continual positive impact of a programme that has received an award accolade.
GD Environmental was initially recognised in 2014 for successfully aligning their responsible business practices to their plans for strategic growth and expansion.
The 2014 Finance Wales’ 'Responsible Small Business of The Year' Award winners has continued to deliver a range of positive impacts as a result of the companies long-term waste waste reduction and recycling strategy, which encompassed all aspects of their business and is underpinned by a range of responsible business initiatives.
Commenting on news that GD Envronmental has been successfully reaccredited for their success in the 2014 Wales Responsible Business Awards, Rosie Sweetman, Director of Business in the Community Cymru, said:
“The Wales Responsible Business Awards celebrate and recognise the very best of Welsh business – companies who are truly embedding responsible business throughout their organisation and making a positive difference to their employees, suppliers, customers and neighbours.
“It is fantastic news that GD Environmental has successfully reaccredited their Award from 2014. They, and the companies across Wales with whom we work, are a real, tangible demonstration of business as a powerful force for good.
“On behalf of BITC Cymru and the Welsh responsible business community, I congratulate each of the companies on the shortlist and those who have been reaccredited, not only for their success in getting this far in the Awards, but also for playing their part in creating a more sustainable Wales for all".
