Here at GD Environmental, we recognise the importance of informing and educating our customers on the financial implications associated with emptying and maintaining a cesspit, as well as encouraging customers not to accept the first quote they receive.
Guidelines to Emptying Your Cesspit
We advise all of our customers to follow The Environment Agency’s guidelines and arrange for their cesspit to be emptied on an annual basis. We offer regularly scheduled and competitively priced cesspit tank emptying at a time suitable for you, preventing the risk of blocked drains, an offensive odour and most importantly an overflowing tank.
The Cost of Emptying a Cesspit
Cesspit emptying costs will ultimately depend on a number of differing factors, including the size of the tank, the frequency that it’s emptied, and the volume of waste that needs to be dealt with.
Generally speaking, domestic cesspits have the capacity to hold 1000 gallons of cess waste, therefore our servicing rates are based on per 1000 gallons. It is important to note that domestic cesspits are exempt from VAT, this is applicable to all homeowners and farms.
Regardless of what company you choose to appoint to empty your cesspit, we recommend you review the quantity of waste they remove as quoted. Many drainage companies charge per 1,500 gallons, which in many cases, is more than what your cesspit can hold.
Our cesspit prices range from £95 - £125 (per 1,000 gallons) depending on the area you are based in; this price is inclusive of transport and disposal of the waste, and includes the production of a ‘Duty of Care’ note. GD Environmental have a fleet of tankers and operatives, who are specially trained and equipped to empty cesspits across Wales and The South West, including those based in and around Monmouthshire, Newport, Cardiff, Bridgend, Swansea and Bristol.
For added benefit and peace of mind, we offer a high-pressure water jetting service, which can be undertaken at the same time of emptying, which will jet the lines and leave your cesspit free of blockages and debris.
The nature of a cesspit can vary dramatically between properties. Some of our customers require their tanks to be emptied more regularly, some on a quarterly basis and others on a 6 monthly basis. We work with our customers to automatically service their tanks on a regular basis, taking the hassle out of pre-booking the service.
