Bird faeces are classed as a hazardous waste and can be a bio hazard to anyone within close proximity. Harmful organisms found in bird waste can cause lung and blood diseases such as histoplasmosis, aspergillosis and listeriosis. The birds also carry dangerous bacteria which can cause salmonelliosis and pseudo-tuberculosis.
Having worked on several high profile bird faeces removal contracts over the last 12 months we understand the dangers and requirements of safely cleaning contaminated areas and removing all live birds from required areas.
While working on site, GD Environmental Services follow strict procedures to reduce the risk of disease spreading within a contaminated area. This is achieved through sealing heating and cooling air ducts, wearing appropriate biohazard suits and we assure all bird waste is sprayed with the appropriate chemicals stopping any bacteria from becoming airborne.
