What is the threat?
At least 3500 people in Great Britain die each year from mesothelioma and asbestos related lung cancer as a result of past exposure to asbestos. Asbestos was used extensively as a building material in Great Britain from the 1950s through to the mid 1980s. Although some of this material has been removed over the years, there are many thousands of tons of asbestos still present in buildings today. It is estimated that over half a million non-domestic premises currently contain some form of asbestos.

With one of the few asbestos transfer stations available in Wales and the West Country, GD Environmental provides a thorough asbestos surveying, removal and disposal service. We are licensed to provide Asbestos Surveying, Asbestos Removal and Asbestos Transfer Services across the UK with approved ADR drivers licensed to transport all types of Asbestos and Hazardous Waste.
The development of our Waste Transfer Station has increased our capacity to transfer and dispose of asbestos substances. In the event of an emergency we have the capability to provide an efficient response service to any locations across the UK. This quick turnaround is to reduce the impact of any fly tipped asbestos to both the public and the environment. A summary of our asbestos services and capabilities include:
